wHAT I DO
Specifically, I'm interested in:
BRAND STRATEGY
As elementary as it might sound, what differentiates your company or product from your competitors? What makes you get out of bed every morning? If you can't answer that in a 30 second elevator pitch, you just need to get more specific.
RECRUITING STRATEGY
I've just started a blog called Zen and the Art of Tech Recruiting that shares some of my insights from Meraki and beyond.
Tactically, I'm really good at:
- Events. Team-building, concerts, executive dinners, recruiting happy hours, university recruiting fairs, trade shows, academic conferences, luaus, tech talks, meetups, birthday surprises, customer visits and summits, cook-offs - I've done them all.
- Content. I think it's real darn important to think about who your target audience is, and how to connect with them on their own turf. Can we create empathy maps for your target customers and candidates, then craft compelling native content? How can you add value to a human's life, aside from selling your wares?
- Social Media. The only hard rule in the Wild West of Social Media is to creative native content - something with great ROI on Twitter won't always translate to Facebook, and certainly won't be aesthetically interesting enough for Instagram. Don't be lazy.
- People Ops. I love holistically looking at how an organization functions, and how we might build processes and culture to reflect the unique little snowflake each company is :)
